Real Florida

When visiting Florida it is very easy to get caught up in the theme parks and miss what Florida really has to offer. From fresh water springs to some of the best beaches in the world, make sure to visit these local treasures while on vacation. Blue Springs State Park is located just north of Orlando and is a natural fresh water springs and historical site. You can go swimming in the natural springs, where the water is crystal clear, and if swimming isn’t your thing then there is a river tour where you can go see the wildlife while learning about the history of the area. Clearwater/Treasure Island is on the West coast of Florida and right on the Gulf of Mexico. This area has everything to offer: from amazing local restaurant and sea food to some of the best beaches in the world. Homosassa Springs is a world away from the theme parks. It is a state park with an animal reserve and offers boat rentals. When you rent out a boat you can also swim in the water or even head out to the Gulf of Mexico. On your way out to you can stop off at one of the local restaurants or bars that are on the water, many of which have docks right on their property.
